Suggested First Day Tasting Itinerary
Heading to Paso from the Bay Area? Looking for suggestions that will get you out of the car and into the Paso vibe as quickly (and deliciously) as possible? We’ve got a recommended itinerary for you!
- You are heading South on the 101, ready to stretch your legs and consume a little wine. Don’t go all the way to Paso Robles!
- Just past San Miguel, you will make a right turn on San Marcos (that’s right, not an exit, a right turn off the freeway).
- Follow the dips and turns, enjoy the scenery — keep an eye out for Tule Elk, and continue approximately 5 miles to the end at Nacimiento Lake Road, turn right.
- Continue for approximately 6.5 miles. Along the way Naci Lake Rd will turn into Chimney Rock Road. DO NOT MAKE THE RIGHT TURN TOWARD THE LAKE.
- At around 6.5 miles, after you have passed the Adelaida Schoolhouse, make a left into the driveway:
kukkula
9535 Chimney Rock Rd.
Paso Robles, CA 93446
805−227−0111
kukkulawine.com
Regular tasting room hours: 10 – 4 Thursday-Monday
After your tasting at kukkula:
- Make a right out of the driveway and continue straight toward Paso Robles for 9 miles
- Turn left at Mustard Creek Rd and make an immediate right into the driveway:
Copia
5076 Mustard Creek Road
Paso Robles, Ca 93446
(805)296‑3000
Regular tasting room hours: 10 – 4 Thursday-Monday
By now you should have a good base of wine and be ready to check into your hotel or air bnb (perhaps there is time for a quick nap):
- Turn left out of the Copia driveway
- Turn left onto Nacimiento Lake Rd.—this will turn into 24th Street as you approach Paso
- Continue approximately 4 miles to Spring Street
- Turn right on Spring and follow to the heart of downtown Paso
If you find you’d still like to taste more wine, may we suggest Decemil?— walkable from most of the downtown area:

Robles, CA 93446
